The next chapter of DayZ begins today as Bohemia Interactive releases DayZ Badlands, the largest expansion in the history of the iconic survival game. Available now on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, the new content takes survivors to Nasdara, a vast region of drought-stricken wilderness, abandoned industry, and forgotten settlements where the environment itself can be as deadly as the infected.

Spanning 267 km², Nasdara is a completely new terrain built specifically for DayZ, set in the westernmost part of Takistan. Scarred by conflicts of global powers, its vast landscapes are shaped by the remnants of oil industry, major roads and border crossings, and the remains of settlements scattered throughout the arid countryside.
Surviving Nasdara means more than simply finding food and avoiding the infected. Extreme heat, drought, and sandstorms introduce new threats that force survivors to think differently about how they travel and prepare. Water becomes more important than ever, as in addition to providing hydration it’s also a way to cool down and be protected from the harsh environment.
The expansion also introduces rebuilding, a unique feature that allows players to restore ruined houses, wells, and entrances to irrigation tunnels. These locations can become valuable shelters and resources, while their condition can differ between servers, giving communities new reasons to explore, cooperate, and make their mark on the world.
For those who prefer to keep moving and explore quickly, motorbikes provide a new way to cross Nasdara's enormous terrain. But beneath the surface, a new terrain-hole system opens the way to irrigation tunnels, road tunnels, and underground bunkers. Some of these locations hide valuable loot, but finding them is only part of the puzzle, as radio transmissions using Morse code can provide the coordinates and access codes needed to enter urban bunkers.
